Amos Oz and Anton Tchekhov: Genealogy of a Poetics
The article presents a brief critical analysis of the Israeli writer Amós Oz’s works, emphasizing the conditions of emergence for a singular poetics in the interior of his novels, by articulating some social and historical aspects of the author´s path with the importance of his readings of the works by the Russian writer Anton Chekhov. The study of the case aims the comprehension of some reasons which explain Chekhov´s relevance for the literature of the late twentieth century´s literature, and, at the same time, the identification of the originality of Oz´s voice as a vehicle of feelings and artistic forms of his time.
O artigo apresenta uma breve análise crítica da obra do escritor israelense Amós Oz, com ênfase para as condições de emergência de uma poética singular no interior de seus romances, articulando determinados aspectos sócio-históricos da trajetória do autor com a importância da leitura da obra do escritor russo Anton Tchekhov para a configuração de seu trabalho. Pretende-se compreender, com o estudo do caso, algumas razões da relevância de Tchekhov para a literatura do período pós-utópico do final do século XX; e, ao mesmo tempo, identificar a originalidade da voz poética de Amós Oz como veículo de sentimentos e formas artísticas particulares de seu tempo.
