Abstract: This research analyses how leading european media and their online audiences introduce themselves and use Facebook and Twitter, now that the social media is transforming the relation between those actors. It is a comparative analysis based on the type of support (press, radio, television and pure players). The methodology is the content analysis of their profilesin those social media during two months of 2013. Diffusion of information is the prior function in every support. The press and its community are those who use both platforms in a most intensive and effective way.
Translated abstract: Esta investigaci贸n analiza de manera comparada y por tipos de soporte c贸mo se presentan y utilizan los medios europeos de referencia y sus audiencias Facebook y Twitter, en un momento en que las redes sociales transforman la relaci贸n entre ambos actores. La metodolog铆a se basa en el an谩lisis del contenido de las cuentas oficiales de estos medios en ambas plataformas durante dos meses de 2013. La difusi贸n de informaci贸n es la funci贸n prioritaria con independencia del tipo de soporte. La prensa y su comunidad son las que hacen un uso m谩s intensivo y eficaz de su actividad en este entorno.
