Resumen: The objective of the present work was carry out the review the main features outcome of the assessments of sustainability in tropical agroecosystems in states of the south-southeast of Mexico. To do this, were collected studies related to the activities of the agricultural sector, farming and ranching, computing in different sources such as magazines, conferences and books. There were 14 studies whose main features include the concentration of the evaluations in cattle systems dual purpose, protruding the state of Veracruz with the evaluation of five management systems. The most commonly methods used assessment methods are the MESMIS framework and indices of sustainability; the assessed areas usually include the economic, social and environmental; studies are transversal to compare two or more systems in a given period of time and the type of scale regularly assessed is the unit of livestock production. Given that few efforts reported by assessing the sustainability of agroecosystems in the tropical regions of the entities of the south-southeast of Mexico as noted the 14 reviews analyzed in this work. 
Resumen traducido: El objetivo del presente trabajo fue llevar a cabo una revisión de las principales características resultado de las evaluaciones de sustentabilidad en agroecosistemas tropicales en estados del sur-sureste de México. Para ello, se recopilaron estudios relacionados con actividades del sector agropecuario, agrícolas y ganaderas, en diferentes fuentes informáticas como revistas, congresos y libros. Se encontraron 14 trabajos cuyas características principales destacan la concentración de los análisis en sistemas bovinos de doble propósito, sobresaliendo el estado de Veracruz con la evaluación de cinco sistemas de manejo. Los métodos de evaluación más utilizados son el marco MESMIS y los Índices de Sustentabilidad; las áreas evaluadas incluyen generalmente la económica, social y ambiental; los estudios son de tipo transversal al comparar dos o más sistemas en un periodo de tiempo determinado y el tipo de escala analizado regularmente es la unidad de producción ganadera. Se atribuye que son pocos los esfuerzos reportados por evaluar la sustentabilidad de los agroecosistemas en las regiones tropicales de las entidades del sur-sureste de México como lo constatan las 14 revisiones analizadas en este trabajo.
