Resumen: Seismic surveying for hydrocarbon detection is done in several ways; perhaps the most extended procedure is the reflection method where small charges of seimigel are detonated and reflections are gathered in geophones. The analysis of the records allow the geophysicist to estimate the spatial position of geologic formations that may accumulate hydrocarbons. There is the concern if detonations have some environmental impact. This paper explores it and concludes that if some minimum distances from the explosion to constructions and the like are maintained, there is no possibility to affect the environment.
