Descripción: DESIDADES is an electronic, peer-reviewed, scientific journal aiming at the dissemination of scientific knowledge in the area of childhood and youth. It is published by the Centre of Interdisciplinary Research and Interchange on Contemporary Childhood and Youth (NIPIAC), of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). It publishes original manuscripts, interviews and book reviews that critically discuss aspects of children’s and youth’s lives. One of the sections, named Bibliographical Information, brings to the wide public information about recent publications, in the human and social sciences, on childhood and youth in Latin America. The journal stands as an online platform of scientific discussion and academic debate on issues of children’s and youth’s lives in the context of Latin America.
