Introducción: el análisis y la evaluación de la información y el conocimiento resultante de la actividad científica es un elemento imprescindible para todos los programas de investigación pública.Objetivo: caracterizar la visibilidad y productividad de la revista médica Multimed de la provincia de Granma a través de variables cienciométricas, se tomó como base de datos el Google Académico.Métodos: se realizó un estudio bibliométrico. Las variables utilizadas fueron los indicadores cienciométricos que ofrece la base de datos con la que se trabajó. Se relacionó la cantidad de artículos publicados con el número de autores que participan en la investigación. Se revelaron los artículos citados, cantidad de citas, autores y año. La búsqueda de los indicadores se realizó al introducir en la caja de navegación del Publish or Perish el nombre de la revista médica y su ISSN (International Serial Standard Number).Resultados: en los cuatro años que se tomaron como referencia para el análisis de los indicadores se publicaron 392 artículos, de ellos sólo 13 fueron citados en un total de citas de 16. El índice h de 2 fue igual al índice g; se publicaron 141 artículos con tres autores y en menor cuantía con un autor y más de cinco. Sólo tres artículos mostraron mayor cantidad de citas de los trece que aportaron.Conclusiones: se muestran indicadores cienciométricos que entorpecen la visibilidad y productividad. Predominaron los artículos con un bajo números de autores lo que refleja los estándares del Comité Internacional de Editores de Revistas Médicas y, hubo escasos trabajos citados que beneficiaron a los indicadores estudiados.

Introduction: the analysis and evaluation of information and knowledge resulting from scientific activity is an essential element for all public research programs. Objective: to characterize the visibility and productivity of the Medical Journal Multimed from Granma province through scienciometric variables based on data on Google Scholar. Material and methods: a bibliometric study was carried out. The variables used were scientometrics indicators provided by the database that was used. The number of articles published was related to the number of authors participating in the research. The articles quoted, number of citations, authors and year were revealed. The search for the indicators was done by entering in the navigation box of Publish or Perish the name of the medical journal and it's ISSN (International Serial Standard Number). Results: in the four years that were taken as reference for the analysis of the indicators, 392 articles were published, of which only 13 were cited in a total of 16 bibliographic cites. The h index of 2 was equal to the g index; 141 articles were published with three authors and in minor amount with one author and more than five. Only three articles showed more quotations from the thirteen that contributed. Conclusions: scientific indicators that obstruct visibility and productivity are shown. Articles with a low number of authors predominated, reflecting the standards of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors, and there were few cited works that benefited the indicators studied.
