| Abstract: | This paper studies the lexical and syntactic properties of the preposition entre and the constructions that entre heads. Based on the intrinsic lexical properties of the preposition can be described the syntactic relations that are established between the SSPP with entre and the arguments that these constructions are oriented. The locative and collective values, internal in the semantics of entre, allow to reflect in the predicative syntax the nature of this type of noun phrases, because they are expressions of «position inside of a whole». This expression describes a mode in which is manifest an entity from a point of view «locative», «reciprocal» or «summative», to which we add two more relations: «divisive» and «optional». The syntactic representation of such relationships can be translated on the basis of the typical logical operations of the Theory of Sets and the particularities of the types of sentences in which those are inserted can be analyzed in terms of the restrictions imposed by the grammar of these peculiar constructions. |

| Translated abstract: | El presente trabajo trata los aspectos léxicos y sintácticos de la preposición entre y las construcciones que encabeza. Partiendo de las propiedades léxicas intrínsecas de dicha preposición pueden describirse las relaciones sintácticas que se establecen entre los SSPP que introduce y los argumentos a los que estas construcciones se orientan. Los valores locativo y colectivo, internos en la semántica de la preposición entre, permiten reflejar en la sintaxis la naturaleza predicativa de este tipo de sintagmas, pues constituyen expresiones de «posición en el interior de un conjunto». Tal expresión describe un modo en el que se dispone o presenta una entidad desde un punto de vista propiamente «locativo», «recíproco» o «sumativo». Por ello, podemos clasificar los valores de los sintagmas introducidos por entre a partir de una relación interpuesta, simétrica o sumativa, a los que añadimos dos relaciones más: divisiva y optativa. Los esquemas de representación sintáctica de dichas relaciones pueden traducirse sobre la base de las operaciones lógicas de la Teoría de Conjuntos, del mismo modo que las particularidades de los tipos de oración en las que se insertan pueden analizarse en función de las restricciones que impone la gramática de estas singulares construcciones. |
