This paper exposes the impact of the contribution of the writings of engineers and mineralogists who carried out their explorations in the mining districts of Pachuca, Real del Monte and El Chico, Mexico, between 1849 and 1864. The results of the investigations founded by engineers Joseph Burkart, Manuel Rivera Cambas and Ramón Almaraz, and entrepreneurs as Tomás Mancera, made possible the recognition and mining exploitation of the Pachuca region, which acquired a major preponderance among the mining districts of Mexico during the 19th century, being the topic of several research memoirs of this time. The analytical review of these works and their information exposes a shared interest by entrepreneurs and researchers of mineralogy, who tried to influence the policies of the government in turn, which above all wanted to know the natural riches of these region to promote the investment of capital and to achieve the desired economic development in Mexico.
