A maioria das mulheres míticas que conformam o corpus das Heroides de Ovídio demonstra inexperiência na arte de amar, o que desperta a ineficácia de seus discursos persuasivos. Hipermestra, porém, na epístola XIV, dá indícios de que domina tanto aars dicendicomo aars amandi.Oobjetivo deste trabalho é analisar o discurso persuasivo de Hipermestra, e comprovar que sua construção se corresponde, em termos gerais, com as partes do discurso expostas noDe oratore de Cícero,dando especial destaque ao uso dos elementos não racionais dainuentio: éthosepáthos.
